A mathematical answer to a moral dilemma: dating an oilman
Mette is dating a petroleum engineer. She is uncomfortable with her boyfriend helping giant oil companies producing more oil, polluting the Earth, and changing its climate.
She wants a clean world for herself and her future children.
She is stuck with a dilemma: asking her boyfriend to quit a luxurious job or accept it against all her moral values.
What about the financial difficulties and the change of their lifestyle if he quits his job?
This is the story of Denmark, Norway, and many other nations blessed with fossil fuel resources yet fully aware of climate change impacts.
What is the right environmental policy for them? Is it right to live with their oil and gas resources, or is it time to kick them out of the house?
In this scientific standup comedy I will give a personal mathematical answer to anyone who can count from 0 to 100.
