The journey of a single cell to an entire human

Have you wondered how you were born, how many cells exists in your body and their origins? I am going to talk about the remarkable journey of a single cell that grows, scales exponentially and forms an entire human.

This fascinating process is a remarkable journey of a single cell that grows into an entire human containing 37 trillion cells.

The story begins with a single fertilised cell containing half of your parents genetic blueprint. This cell grows, copies the blueprint and divides into two sibling cells, in a process called cell cycle.

With each growth round, 2 cells become 4, then 16, then 32 and then 64-128 unique cells called embryonic stem cells. These remarkable individual stem cells are tasked to form all cell types (neuronal, blood), organs (kidney, liver), tissues (muscle) and the entire human.

I am going to talk about the journey that a single cell takes to grow, scale up and form entire human.
