Can podcasts, music streaming and audiobooks support our wellbeing?
Do you love streaming podcasts, music or audiobooks? Learn about how these habits can play an important role in supporting our personal wellbeing by providing enjoyment, relief, meaning and purpose.
In everyday life, many of us are constantly engaging with digital audio: a Spotify playlist on the morning commute; an investigative podcast while cooking dinner; an audiobook chapter to keep us company during exercise. As we are increasingly surrounded by these entertainment soundscapes, it is important for us to understand more about their impact and effects.
During this talk, I aim to show that our everyday listening habits are not just a way to help pass the time on a train or at the gym. I will demonstrate how digital audio culture can support our personal wellbeing. It manages our emotions and makes us feel connected. It makes us exposed to new ideas, that encourage us to broaden our horizons.
