Digitalization of public services in Denmark - Does it bring any value?

Different stakeholders have different interests in the digital transformation of the public services in Denmark - from citizens to the economy and the public at large. But what value does the digitalization process generate?

The digital transformation of public administration in Denmark has been underway for decades. From NemID to e-Boks, digitalized medical journals and taxation - these are only a couple of the developments that have completely restructured our society.

And this innovation is not slowing down any time soon.

That is because of the tremendous value it generates - but what value exactly? And how?

In this talk, I will present four types of public value generated by such digitalization process: Citizen, Economic, Administrative and Societal/Public value.

In addition, I will talk about how co-production among different stakeholders is key in such digitalization processes, both concerning digital strategy formulation and implementation.

The results are part of a big Horizon2020-project on value creation in public services innovation.
