The Microbes Behind the Mirror: Rethinking Metabolism and Weight Loss
Our gut microbiome is emerging as a powerful internal system, almost like a new endocrine organ that is constantly communicating with the body. It helps regulate metabolism, immune function, and the protective barriers of the intestine. When this microbial community becomes imbalanced, a state known as dysbiosis, it can strongly affect health and contribute to many diseases.
In this talk we’ll examine how the gut microbiome influences obesity and liver disease (MASLD) and how that is linked to diabetes and heart health. Learn about the metabolic interactions between microbes and the host and how by understanding these microbial communities, we can develop microbiome-based therapies and improve metabolic health.
